OMHSAS Announcements

March 6, 2009

1. Attached is the new Blended Case Management (BCM) bulletin OMHSAS-09-02 dated March 3, 2009. The purpose of this bulletin is to establish blended case management as a stand-alone service. This bulletin transmits the information necessary for the provision and reimbursement of blended case management services, and applies to adult as well as children’s services. The issuance of this bulletin renders the previous bulletin on blended Case Management, OMHSAS-06-06, obsolete. This bulletin also eliminates the need for waivers to provide blended case management. If you have any questions concerning this bulletin, please contact Amanda Pearson at apearson@state.pa.us.

2. The PA Compeer Coalition would like to announce the launch of their new website. Go to www.pacompeercoalition.org and see for yourself how Compeer friendships change lives.

3. The Pennsylvania Department of Health, Bureau of Drug & Alcohol Programs (BDAP) is pleased to announce that it will offer mini-grants of up to $5,000 to develop programs related to public education, awareness and training to promote the treatment and prevention of compulsive and problem gambling.

4. MHAPA’s OpenMindsOpenDoors campaign has launched part of its site devoted to Employers and Employees. As part of that new area, we will also be listing certified peer specialists in the state looking for employment. (Once we have a list of peer specialists we will reach out to providers to register and and provide job opportunities that can be listed.) Here is the link to the peer specialist form for individuals to complete.
