January 29, 2010
Through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, ARRA, the federal government is providing both administrative funding for Pennsylvania and incentive payments to Medicaid providers for the implementation of health information technology and the exchange of electronic health records. This is a unique opportunity for Pennsylvania providers to obtain funding for implementing electronic information systems that will improve coordination of care for them and the consumers they serve.
The Department of Public Welfare is undertaking a series of Listening Tours across the commonwealth to present the vision of the MA Health IT initiative to key stakeholders and obtain their input on the process. These tours are designed to engage community partners and providers in the development of strategic health information technology initiatives.
Each listening tour includes a panel of officials from the Department of Public Welfare and the Governor's Office of Health Care Reform. Attendees are encouraged to share their insight and provide feedback on the DPW report: Transforming Health Care Delivery Through the Use of Information Technology
