Speak Out for Special Education Funding & Reform

We urge you to attend this hearing and show the committee members you want quality, well-funded special education for children with disabilities.

PA SENATE HEARING ON SPECIAL EDUCATION

Tuesday, September 21, 2010
10:00 a.m.
Room 8, East Wing, Capitol Building

Representative Sturla (prime sponsor HB 704) will testify and urge the Committee to move the legislation forward.

In June, the PA House of Representatives approved House Bill 704, which makes important improvements to benefit the education of children with disabilities, by an overwhelming vote of 173 to 25. A coalition of children’s advocates has been working hard to ensure that the bill has needed reforms. The coalition includes the Mental Health Association in PA, the Education Law Center, the Disability Rights Network, and the ARC of PA. Join them on September 21 and let your voice be heard.

If you plan on attending the hearing, please email Brett Schaeffer of the Education Law Center at bschaeffer@elc-pa.org. If you cannot attend the hearing in person, call your state senator and urge support of HB 704.
